Equipment Recommendations and Costs
You can buy an RC airplane in almost any toy store. In addition, there are thousands of web sites selling airplanes and other materials. Please feel free to choose any vendor or airplane - that is your decision.
Based upon our experience, we feel the following kit airplanes are relatively inexpensive, easy to assemble, easy to fly ... and easy to repair with factory replacement parts when you have the inevitable hard landing. However, inexpensive does not mean cheap quality. You can find alternatives that have a lower price - but you may be sacrificing quality - and the ability for someone to assist in your flight training by connecting to your equipment. These are critical issues for your success - and at SKSS our goal is for you not only to succeed but to also have fun.
All of the following equipment can be purchased at G Force Hobbies. The prices in this document reflect those as of January 14th, 2010. Why G-force? They are local, their prices are competitive and you get support and service. This is important, especially for newcomers.
